Connect a Headset to Your Desk Phone or App
Headsets connect a few different ways depending on the type. Here's how to get yours working.
Step-by-step
- 1
Identify your headset type
Headsets connect via USB, Bluetooth, or a coiled RJ9 cord. USB and Bluetooth work great with the desktop app; RJ9 and some USB models connect directly to a desk phone.
- 2
Connect a USB headset
Plug it into your computer (for the app) or the phone's USB port if it has one. It's usually detected automatically.
- 3
Pair a Bluetooth headset
Put the headset in pairing mode, then add it from your computer's Bluetooth settings or the phone's Bluetooth menu.
- 4
Connect an RJ9 headset
Plug the headset cord into the headset port (headset icon) on your desk phone, then press the headset button to use it.
- 5
Set it as the audio device
In the desktop or mobile app, open Settings → Audio and choose your headset for the microphone and speaker, then make a test call.
